LifeSkills

The next step after the Emergency Shelter program at the Holland Rescue Mission is the LifeSkills Program.

This is a five month program, where the same rules apply from the Emergency Program with a few additions. Here, they volunteer for weekly workstation assignments in the building, and meet requirements in classes.

These classes include: Bible, Peacemaker, Marriage, Addictions, Finances, Sexuality, Parenting, Innovative Learning Program, Career Employment Services, Crossroads Bible Class, GED completion, Health and Exercise.

All of these classes are designed to give these men the tools and knowledge they need to get back on their feet. There are reasons these people are where they are at, and these classes help them address those issues, and mainstream back into society.

Throughout this program, the men stay in rooms like these, where they can keep their belongings and have more space to themselves.

In the new living quarters, the men hold each other accountable, support each other and create a family like community.

Through this program they are still meeting with their Case Manager, who helps to keep them on track and verify they are working or actively looking for work.

This month I am collecting canned food for both the men's and women/children shelter. Please let me know if you would like to donate! OR you can click HERE
to give a financial donation to the Holland Rescue Mission.
Be the change. Make the difference.
