safe haven. protective hands.

Protective Hands is another part of Safe Haven Ministries that assists families who either do not need the shelter, or have already left the shelter. They have certified therapists and family advocates that offer confidential and professional services.

For the women, they provide support groups, individual counseling, legal advocacy, case management and information and resources through their Resource Library.

For the children, they offer a special trauma-intervention group called I Feel Better Now. This is an 8 week support group for kids age 6-12 and allows them to share their stories, learn how to recognize feelings and make decisions on how to act on them, and learn non-violent problem solving skills. They also learn about the cycle of abuse.

With your donation to my run, Safe Haven can continue to provide services like these to women in the Grand Rapids community. We have raised $200 of the $1,000 goal so far, and have 13 weeks left! Donate now :)

Be the change. Make the difference.
