Since opening its doors in 1990, Ramoth House, has provided refuge and domestic violence services to over 5,000 women and children. There are eight rooms at the house where families can stay, and services such as educational and therapy support groups, case management, crisis intervention and legal advocacy are provided. Ramoth House also offers one-on-one counseling sessions with fees based on a sliding scale.
Ramoth House also offers programs for children staying at the shelter. These programs help them share their story in a safe environment, use non-violent problem solving skills, and develop stress management tools and an understanding of the cycle of abuse.
The shelter also provides in-services for women and children, which are different sessions or workshops to help the residents have a fun, stress free day. These sessions can be things like beauty consultations, art therapy or writing workshops. If you or your business is interested in providing an in-service at Ramoth House, click here to learn more.
"More than three women a day are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends in the United States.
One in three adolescent girls in the US is a victim of abuse from a dating partner.
275 million children world wide are exposed to violence in the home.
Domestic abuse is more than a family issue, it's a community's issue.
Together we can end domestic violence."
